Jennifer Melnik was born in Holland and educated in Brisbane. After leaving school she studied Commercial Illustration and Graphic Design, working as a freelance commercial artist.
In 1993 she attended University and became a registered nurse. After graduating, she decided nursing was not a career she wanted to pursue, so did an intensive twelve month Graduate Diploma in Education, qualifying as a primary school teacher in 1999.
She has worked as a graphic artist, school parent liaison officer, aged care nursing assistant, teacher, home tutor and editor.
Jennifer taught in Brisbane for a year, then in 2000 travelled to England, teaching for six years in many different schools in the UK. She currently writes and illustrates adult's and children's books and contributes to children's magazines. She has established and is editor of Cherububble children's magazine.
Jennifer has written and created a number of teaching resources and is available for school visits.
